During the elections held today (11 July) on the margins of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers meeting of 10-11 July 2017 in Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire), Dr. Ömer Faruk Altıntaş was elected to the OIC Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission for the period between 2018 and 2021 in the Asian Group with the highest vote.


The IPHRC has a Turkish member uninterruptedly since its establishment, which is a reflection of the confidence accorded to Turkey within the OIC.
