AA - There is a distinct possibility that Turkey will weather the global economic crisis in a stronger way, an official from the European Investment Bank (EIB) said on Sunday. Hakan Lucius, Head of EIB unit for Turkey, stated that Turkey has several significant advantages despite the global crisis. The reforms made in the banking sector under the initiative of the Turkish Bank Regulation and Supervision Agency as well as the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund after 2001 economic crisis, have strengthened the sector, Lucius noted.
